Nooj and LeBlanc

Nooj's relationship with LeBlanc didn't seem entirely onesided. While he obviously doesn't see her in the extremely romantic way she sees him, he's not harsh or short with her. His work with the Youth Alliance showed him to be good at controlling and manipulating people crowds. Of course he's going to use her emotions to his benefit. At the same time, I don't think he's doing it in a cold or unfeeling way. She may not be much more to him than a puppy who fetches his slippers, but that would still make her a cared-for pet.

Nooj and Paine

This seems to be a very popular pairing on Japanese sites, but frankly, I don't see it. I suppose you could make an arguement for it happening back when they were cadets, but I don't think Nooj and Paine is any more likely than Nooj and Baralai or Nooj and Gippal.

Then again, if you're a yaoi fan... alright, fine, I'll do all three.

Nooj and the Crimson Squad

What it comes down to is that one who wants madly to die is not going to be running around forming attachments and friendships and romantic relationships all the time. Even in the "happy" flashbacks, Nooj was the one who was quiet and withdrawn. Still, I think it's obvious he did (and does) have some attachment to his teammates. Note the times he offers to stay behind and fight while they escape - I don't imagine that's something he'd do for just anyone.
